Will Miller Digital Elite & or Jackson NexGen Auto Darkening Lens Solar Cells Charge the lens batteries in Ambient light? with the lens turned off, if left out on the bench uncovered in a lit enviornment? If not why not? It has been said that the light from the welding arc is used to charge the batteries thru the solar cells. What is the tint color of the Miller Digital Elite Auto Darkening Lens compared to the Jackson NexGen?
Reply:I set my mask out in the full sun about 1/2 an hour.

Reply:I can't tell you what the tint color is;But, I use my solar powered auto-dark without any problem; taking it out of the protective bag, putting it on my head and going to business. All in-doors, no actual sunlight whatsoever. Reply:I noticed recently that my Elite was flashing red when I started using it. I guess I hadn't been using it enough lately. I set it in the sun for a bit and it went away. I don't keep it in a bag but I don't leave the lights on in the garage all the time either. |
