I just want to mention for newbies, including myself.Be sure to check the polarity of your ground clamp and welding gun before welding between flux core and MIG!I always wondered why I couldn't weld MIG, but could weld Flux-core. I went to investigate after reading something on here about polarity, and what do ya know. I had the cables backwards when trying to weld MIG.It's amazing how MIG works the right way! Check your polarity newbies!
Reply:Fluxcore self-shield wires run torch negative, work positive. This is DCEN (direct current electrode negative), or straight polarity.Solid wire with gas and gas shield fluxcore wires run torch positive, work negative. This is DCEP, or reverse polarity.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op |
