Reply:Please tell motor type and size. What kind of wheels and tires also tire & wheel size
Reply:No racing for this kart. Neighborhood is pretty cool with it. Heck, what are they gonna say to a mid 40's grey haired idiot playing in the street like a 10 year old. They can have their pocket bikes. The motor is a 5.5 hp BS running through a standard Comet friction clutch. 12 tooth sprocket on the clutch, 58 tooth sprocket on the axle with #35 chain. Axle is 1-1/14" solid steel. Cut down to 24" wide. Wheels are all 6" one piece aluminum, go kart racer toss aways from Ebay. Rear tires are 7.10" mounted on 10" wide rims, front tires  are 6" mounted on 6" wide rims. Spindles and hubs are all Ebay items as well. I found that serious kart racers only run their stuff for very short periods and then sell them off on ebay. Obviously, I inspected all parts prior to install to make it the kart as safe as possible. (yeah, right, a bar stool kart that is safe! go figure!). The paint was the old "rustoleum thinned with acetone" trick that again worked like a champ. It was a good winter project, but we are having so much fun with it, I am now looking to build one of those Radio Flyer red wagon with similar power and wheel set up. Biggest issue was getting front end aligned so it tracked well as I pass through the 70 mph range (more like 20, feels like 70!). After some lengthy trial, error and measurements, it runs straight and true.Tubing is all 1-1/2 box, 0.090 wall welded with my Lincoln SP135 set on highest setting.
Reply:Good stuff Metalworx! Once I get some free time and after I build a few other necessary tools for my shop, I plan on building one. I have a 7hp motor off a Craftsman snow blower. John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
