Hi, As a newbie, i seek your ideas for building a "rack" to store, my steel supply, outdoors. Nothing huge is needed, but, having say 6 or 8 'shelves' would be nice. My longest pieces to store are 10 foot long 3 inch angle irons. I also have many small pieces and odds and ends to store, and I don't have room indoors. Outdoor space is limited where I am located, yet I have an area in mind beside my small shop, that will accomadate the 10 feet long angle irons, and would allow a 4 or 5 feet deep reach( your arm stretched out in front of you) and I could go say 5 feet high.I welcome ideas; drawings, and pictures.novice_welder4-27-07novice_welder
Reply:Depends on what material is available to you. Pipes 6" - 14" tack welded together horizontally helps to keep things sorted. Easy to build and offer some weather protection.
Reply:How long is your table. I used to store material under my table. 10 feet under a 8 foot is not too inconvient. Only 1 foot of stick out at each. If you have space over head you could up, also. I know a couple of guys who store metal overhead. |
