well i finaly finished up my 3 trucks for sale. took for ever it seems but they are ready to go. the wife is planing to hit the flea market this weekend and its been hard to get things ready as she just started a new job wich makes me babby sitter all day and by the time she gets home there is not too much left of me. he is getting bigger and wanting picked up a lot and its playing heck on me.i made one blue, one red, and one yellow.first pic is all 3 the next pic's are front and back of each as they are all a lil diferent.if the trucks sell this weekend i might make a flame truck for the fallowing week.i'm also trying to get a flame only mail box done but time is short and i have a few other steel projects i want to get made. so maybee i can get them built wile waiting on paint layers to dry. if 2 of the trucks sell im getting a air brush kit for the next set. Reply:only drawback is it was prity time consuming. the blue and yellow ones were about 8-10 Hrs each and the red one was like 3.5 Hrs.i tend to get caried away adding neat lil details making it to complicated, i realy cant help it. its just the way i am i like to make stuff as nice as i can even when i'm trying to make it simple.the red truck was a purpusfull forced atempt at simplifying it to make it more sellable at a decent time to $$ ratio. but i just couldnt leave it plane with just a flat bed so i added the POW*MIA to the door's and a bumper to the back but still stayed under 4 Hrs so i was happy with that.now to see what kinde of $$ i can get out of them wish me luck. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.

Reply:thunder the wife wants to sell them at $125 but i said $80 would be cool if i can get that, so we shall see what see gets for them.all i know for shore is it was a realy fun project and i should use less expensive paint i think. i always use krylon but for the wood projects i think i should just go with a cheeper brand as its not needed to stop rust and it would save about $15 per truck to go with wally world brand. i'll have to try it out and see how it works on one befor making a final decition though. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.

Reply:Nice project and great idea.Also, that's quite a view you have there (in the background of the first pic).  Open space and hills -- terrific stuff.  I'm in a city so I see lots of brick and concrete, a few trees, and not much else.

Reply:To be honest an open here, I think $125 - 150 is a very fair price. From a consumer stand point, if it was $200 or more, I would pass. He stated he has at least 4 hours into it, plus materials. We take an average of 4 hours times an median shop rate of $40 per (time and materials)...that works out about right. Matter of fact, I almost bought one of the fiberglass molds for a mailbox of a '32 roadster.   It was priced at $90, I believe, then you had to fit it and paint it.
