Being that i'm new to welding, this may not have been the best way to begin, but i built a weldernator into my fj60 with lots of help from this website, and it powered my first beads(if you could call them "beads"). The welder:The control box and quick connects:The first couple beads. ever(hey now.)http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...6/IMGP0611.jpgbuilt some cables out of #4 jumpers. half the shielding, perhaps, but for a poor man, they work. So far, I have only practiced a little, and done some light hard facing (get it?) on my manual window regulator to get it to do my bidding. No work space and few tools(not even a vice) prevent me from doing much more than that, but i am an addict, preemptively(ask the GF). look forward to some ball busting from y'all whenever i get around to a real project.laters, f
Reply:We don't "bust balls".. We encourage "better welding via banter".. Reply:That's the Idea. Though I think it would be a decent welder with a couple guages and a more experienced operator. 100% duty cycle! Now i just need to work out a rod oven to counteract the awful humidity here in Kona....
