Here are two pics of a weld I did, tell me what you think. Keep in mind I am completely new to this and am in a welding class for GMAW thru work and this is only the 4th class.
Reply:Looks very good.  You are off to a great start.Keep it up.And your work is sending you to welding school?  You got it made.Favorite right now is a Miller Syncro 200.Tons of tools and I blame at least one of them when things don't go right.

Reply:HIJACK!~~~~~~ I was in the same exact circumstance. Our fabricator/weldor moved on to greener pastures. The boss needed someone to learn mig ASAP. So he told Adam, "You're going to welding school, I'll foot the bill for tuition and books.", so when I heard about it, I volunteered also! I had been struggling with my AC 230 amp Century stick machine for so long...The boss said, "I don't mind if you go along, but I didn't say I would pay your way also!" Adam has seniority. Reply:thanks everyone I am pretty proud of that weld, especially since I am an estimator and sit in an office all the time. The company I work for offered this class for anyone who wanted to take it and it is the same class they make anyone welding in their shop take to get certified in GMAW. The welders they have us using are Miller Deltaweld 652 machines, they are pretty nice but I know they have had some problems with them and the 6 or 7 that we use for class are not on the production floor and are only used for class and about a year old. In fact the other day when i did that weld the digital readout for the amps on the machine I was using quit so I really had no idea of how many amps that was ran at. I have really enjoyed the class so far and I am looking at buying a MIG machine for home use.
