I was wondering if you guys had any tips on tig welding say a small diameter pipe to the side of a larger diameter pipe at a 90 degree angle? Or drilling a hole in some plate and fitting a pipe/bolt through.Do you do it in 2 passes? 4? Do you use a gas lens so you can get 1" projection and not hit the cup but still see what you are doing? Do you walk around it as you weld in 1 pass?It seems like on large diameter pipes I am ok but I have a hard time in small pipe with tight radiuses not contaminating my tungsten with filler/puddle etc and keeping the bead looking even. Example- drill a 3/8" or 5/16" hole in a plate and weld a bolt of the same size all the way around.
