ATV log skidder to be towed behind atv to get logs out of the bush and to a landing or to your portable saw mill with very minimal amounts of sand on firewood log or saw log,only about 6 inches or less drags on ground,not only is there little to no sand to worry about but there isn't much drag on bike because most of the log is up off the ground.Bike should tow unit with no effort at all. Hook chain around log,pull pin on front of skidder,raise the log lifting bar in the upwards position,hook chain into grab hook on arm and then easily and with minimal effort lower arm and repin it and your log is up off the ground and free from snagging any other debris or stumps on your way out of the bush and off you go to the destination in which you would like your log to be placed.Very easy setup and no lifting by hand, no mechanical parts to wear or break,no winch cable to keep trying to get unjammed.Comes with 6foot skidding chain with hooks.1200Lb load capacity. I just built to sell and to see if there is any market for this type of unit.I am looking forward from getting some input from all the welders and memebers on this site as to weather or not that this may be a good idea to make and sell,or even if there would be a demand for such a peice of equipment like this.Last edited by MicroZone; 06-24-2007 at 10:14 PM.

Reply:Sorta like a "timberjack" on wheels..I just wrap a chain around the tree and drag it out with the truck..But I like the concept..Better patten it before someone else does... ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Looks good.  What is the weight capacity  of the tires?    Maybe you could sell it to the guy thats going to cut down 70' trees with a garden tractor. Nice idea, it should sell.Real world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
