Just bored so I thought I would share what was done on a recent turbo kit. For ease of assembly and cost effectiveness, we build what is called a "truck manifold kit". These units flow very well and have produced over 1,000hp on multiple engines. Take a set of rusty manifolds, spend some time with them on a BIG wire wheel spinning at 3,500 RPM and BADA-BING: Just some high temp (1200 degree) paint: John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com

Reply:Nice job Micro. A bead blaster is much easier and faster, although you don't get the nice brushed sheen. Boy, I hope you don't put those covers back on after all of that work. Hobart 140 Handler w/ gasHyperTherm Powermax 380 Plasmaoxy/acetylene

Reply:Verry nice.  The wire wheel is my friend.  DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Thanks everyone! A blaster is much faster but I don't own that tool, so the wire wheel was the choice tool, plus it doesn't give the dimple finish. Nope, covers stay off!  We use these for both our single and twin truck manifold setups. They are handy pieces. Reply:Those 6.0 manifold based kits are very popular.  I am really anxious to see what the new F-body based APS kits are going to turn out like.  Front end price is $4995.00 delivered with twins and a decent intercooler.Lots of toys.
Reply:Nice lookin' job,Micro. I still get the shakes when I see an exhaust manifold from changing the exhaust manifold on the firewall side of our V-6 car just recently. Boy,what a job!!! I needed 4' arms and X-ray vision.                                      MikeOl' Stonebreaker  "Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes"Hobart G-213 portableMiller 175 migMiller thunderbolt ac/dc stick Victor O/A setupMakita chop saw

Reply:Yes, I've used their brand of paint for blocks, heads, etcetera and it holds up great...different temperatures but holds up great. You have to buy the good stuff, not the cheap generic brand. I think it's at least $6.50 a can, I'll check the brand name.John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
