Aluminum lasagna guard

A customer who does catering wanted a baking guard for her lasagna dishes.  Kinda simular to the pie crust ones that are pretty common.  She wanted 3 of them for her 12 x 21" aluminum pans made out of .063 aluminum.  Unfortunately, we were out of 1/16 tungsten so I had to run orange ground to a point.  It worked okay with only a little wander, running from 40 to 50 amps with 1/16 4043 filler rod.  It was a little expencive at 125 bucks, but pushing 1 1/2 hours to rip the pieces down to 2", notch them, breaking them and welding them was a close bid to the actual time. Reply:Nice job.Don't feel too bad about the price.  I can guess what the caterer gets for the lasagna.  Hmm, makes me hungry just thinking about it.Favorite right now is a Miller Syncro 200.Tons of tools and I blame at least one of them when things don't go right.

Reply:Just seeing the picture of the cat at zapster ,made me think are they garfield proof ?,fun aside  nice work ,thought you might be able to fold a tray then plasma out the centre this would cut down on the welding ,charge the customer for the whole sheet then you have all the scrap to play with . who said the Scots were mean .Marky
