Second welding project: Gas Turbine Engine

I am building a gas turbine that I will hopefully mount on a riding lawnmower,or one of those three wheeled bikes for old ladies. The point is to build a motor with 100lbs of thrust, complete with an afterburner, and put it on the last thing that you would expect to sound like an f16. A big diesel turbo with afterburner, tuned to perfection, will usually only put out around 75. You should also do everything possible to lighten the lawnmower, and make it roll easier. From my pulsejet experience I know that even 100lbs of thrust would have a hard time pushing most mowers. Expect a slow start, with acceleration increasing as you gain speed. Your top speed should be higher than you want to go on a mower though. I had my big squarestern canoe doing over 30mph with a 50lb thrust valveless pulsejet. If you haven't already, you should check out the yahoo group "DIY gas turbines". There is hundreds of pages of info there, basically everything you could ever want to know.Good luck!
