Reply:Make a boom crane for your shop. Get a trolley like this one http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=40493and put a winch on the bottom. I use mine all the time - really handy. Here is more detail on it  http://www.weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=11952Good luckJimCut an MGB and widened 11" C4 Corvette suspension and LT1 Chevrolet power & 6 spd. Reply:You could give it to me! I would make a gantry out of it.Sure, I can fix it... I got a welder!!!

Reply:You could take it to a freight transport company and send it to me so you won't be bothered with what to do with such an item, I'm a nice enough guy I'll even let you pay the shipping for it!  If you send it to me I'm gonna build a shop crane out of it with a trolley and winch underneath it like somebody already posted.
Reply:plant it about 4' in the ground, mount a mailbox to the top, videotape the postal carriers response, and upload it to youtube.THEN!!! take it down, make a massive "A-Team" style bumper for my pickup (hmm prolly should go with a front AND rear ya know for symmetry). OR!!!! hold on to that bad larry until the perfect use comes to you (i prefer option 1 and 2 myself but its up to you), then post pics!have fun
Reply:Tree splitter.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
Reply:Make a vise stand. http://s94.photobucket.com/albums/l1...sestand002.jpgDisclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."

Reply:It doesn't eat or drink. When you need it for any one of a million reasons it will be there unless you waste it just to waste it. If you must waste it why not cut it into 749 bottle openers shaped like fish and animals.
Reply:You should build a mobile gantry like this one. We have a similar one at work that we use all the time. Only problem is that you will need to buy a trolley and hoist.Lincoln AC/DC 225/125 Stick Linde HDA-300 MillerMatic DVI MIG Miller Dynasty 200DX Hypertherm Powermax 1000
Reply:Stick it where the sun don't shine..  I owe you that..  ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:If you're near Moore County NC I can sell you some 6"x6"x3/16"x8' or 4"x4"x1/4"x8' square tubing to build your gantry crane.Tha's what I built mine out of.
Reply:You could always build a hydraulic tubing/pipe bender out of it. Other than that I like the gantry ideas.PS: Hey Chuck...where's Moore County?
Reply:Moore County, North Carolina.About an hour south of Raleigh - 1/2 hour north of Rockingham.
Reply:Let's use it for a launch track, to once and for all, settle the question of; what happens when a valve breaks off a cylinder.
Reply:den - Mythbusters already ran that test, it will go through several cement block walls.John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:Dry stacked block walls, any old hothead can put a fist through that!I think that's just the mass and  inertia of the moving cylinder. I don't think they have much propulsion, just enough to move their own weight. However that doesn't jive with the story of the guy who used to ride them!Testing is in order! Save the beam.Last edited by denrep; 08-18-2007 at 11:50 AM.
