Actually, I don't want to give standard car ramps the chance to fail! You know them oil change ramps you buy at your local automotive supply? Yeah them! Don't try to park your motorhome on those! I don't have pictures of them, but, the steel cheapo's I had began to tweek when I landed a bit too hard on the brakes at the top, so......I made my own...heavy duty is a relative term...but these are HD!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The forklift makes an excellent channel bender!I layed out the legs......tacked them up.Then they got welded.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Next post...City of L.A. Reply:They actually kicked up in the back a few inches after adding rubber mats to stop them from skidding, kind of spooky!! I need thinner rubber shoes.First check found the fender washers too thick for the screw heads, ok, lose the washers.Painting.We still have our hand built hitch rack, but having a service bed equipped pick up on that was plenty sketchy for me, thanks, no class A motorhomes!!City of L.A. Reply:I found the gas bottle had run out while doing the scratch pad. Plus it was all way up to max flow, I didn't catch that.edit:- Ben, I painted them so that when our next tank owning customer comes in, they won't think we don't want things clean for their tank as they drive over my bird poop traction beads...Last edited by tanglediver; 08-27-2007 at 07:38 PM.City of L.A. Reply:We have a crate full of disposable wood blocks to choose from for chock duty. Actually, we have a store bought aluminum chock block that is very sweet, professionally cast. Good idea though, I like that!!City of L.A. Structural; Manual & Semi-Automatic;"Surely there is a mine for silver, and a place where gold is refined. Reply:That reminds me, DIY channel did a series of shows on an "ulitmate workshop". In the automotive version of the shop they had an electric lift. I researched that company, they no longer make that lift, wonder how hard it would be to make one, or a pneumatic one that I can crank up using my compressor?Jax
