Reply:you really have to watch that undercut, and most spray arc looks better than that i think you may need to recheck your settings
Reply:Looks good to me David, a hair convex but pretty good actually. Bad thing about that fancy welding is people start to think it should look like a robot did it. I don't agree with that myself, they want it to look like one let them buy one...LOL I don't remember how I ran it flat but on horizontal I pushed at 45/45...nice and round, no hump.Anything worth doing is worth doing RIGHT
Reply:Ahh, you are undercutting the same way I used to when I started spray dual-shield welding. Aim the gun at the vertical member more. Like, a flatter angle but still aim at the root. It'll push the filler material up higher and reduce that undercut when spraying.Looks good though. Is that a drag or a push? Looks like a drag, but the crown is sunk in a bit.
Reply:I sliced the piece today to show profile.Real world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.

Reply:Nice stuff!I have used 98/2, (o2) but that is all my LWS has. I use the 92/8 (co2) for mig welding too. I got the big tank and it stays in the shop. DavidLast edited by David R; 09-09-2007 at 11:54 AM.Real world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
