Reply:can CO2 bottles be converted to use inert gases? I have (2) 10lb CO2 bottles that were used for a nitrous kit on a car. I would like to have a small tank of pure Argon to experiment with migging Aluminum, but the CO2 nozzle is completely different than the unamix tank I have..
Reply:CO2 is usually stored as a liquid. Argon, in user sized containers, is stored as a compressed gas. Liquid and compressed gas cylinders are not interchangeable.Take your CO2 bottles into the welding gas supplier and trade them in for a bottle of argon.
