The guy that is going to make ouzo had me fab up a condenser for his ouzo line. It's made of up a 16 gage shell that is 18" in diameter and 36" tall. The copper tube is 1/2" diameter and 50' long. I welded a fitting on the top and bottom for water to flow though the chamber. There is another fitting not shown in these photos for the copper tube to pass though the shell. I had to break little hanger brackets to hold the copper which were a little tricky to weld out since I was limited on space and had to do quite a stretch to reach that far inside. Later, I zip tied the tube to the hangers.. But he wanted to show progress to his investors so he took the unfinished condenser to his building. He will bring it back later this week to be finished and I'll post more pictures then. Reply:Can y'all distill LEGALY??? I come from a long line of, shall we say, Scotts-Irish corn squeezers. We can't make a single dripping drop in GA on the right side of the law...not even for our own use. Wine and beer are ok on sufficiently low quantities for home or party use, but distilling is a big no-no.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
Reply:nice job will be interesting to see it finished great work
Reply:I hope he part pays you in product. I ran into a guy a while back who was getting kiwifruit wine and distilling it and selling the product for around $10 a bottle. Problem was it became so popular that the police heard of it and he came to Australia while it cooled off in New Zealand. He had a similar set up.
