This weekend while breaking out a street to repair a water main under it I broke a piece on the impactor attachment of my tractor, and at 3:00 am we couldn't get a hold of our welder who was out of town for a wedding, I took a chance and welded it. I have never weled anything this thick before but from reading books and doing alot of reading on this forum heres the finished product which held up for another 4 hours of me pounding the sh## out of it.Its not the best looking weld but it held up.Will Supports Autism Awareness My ToysBobCat 225 PLusMillermatic 130Miller Spectrum 300 CutmateEverlast Power Tig 185 Micro April is Autism Month .
Reply:Look here, if you are not the welder and you are just the operator of the rig and you welded it without proper knowledge or experience and the dang thing held up for another 4 hours of getting beat like a redheaded stepchild, I say DANG FINE JOB!!!!!The proof is in the pudding, right?Ok, with that point being made, I think the first passes look like they were a little cool. But hey, like I said, it got the job done and the water line got fixed, right?Well, there you go!Lincoln Power Mig 210MP MIGLincoln Power Mig 350MP - MIG and Push-PullLincoln TIG 300-300Lincoln Hobby-Weld 110v Thanks JLAMESCK TIG TORCH, gas diffuser, pyrex cupThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 101My brain
