MM 250x ?

I found a 250x for sale locally. It is the late model 250x with volt and amp readout.In good shape cosmetically.Comes with 125cf cylinder for 600.00.If it test out ok should I bite.I know about the 250 issues but I have read that miller got better with each generation.250, 250x no meters and 250 w/meters. What do you think? Thanks, Ken
Reply:My buddy works at his family owned diesel repair shop and has in the past done go kart racing, late model racing, 4wheel drive customizing and now has a rock crawling buggy. They use the earlier 250 for all the welding in the shop and all the hobby repairs, besides it makes a weird noise when cold it welds just fine and has burnt a lot of wire, with no down time.If it was me I would try all the different settings and lay a lot of beads down and really test the thing out, you would be lucky to find a 251 or 252 anywhere close to that price.

Reply:i have a 250x, got it for 500 bucks a few years ago..... it's run countless rolls of wire without checking upnothing fancy, just a few hot glue guns for metalwww.sicfabrications.com
Reply:I also have a 250x mine got the meters,i have done nothing to it, but run it hard for 10 yrs and never had 1 problem.

Reply:I picked it up after testing and talking him out of a spare co2 tank.600.00 it needs cleaning and if I keep it I will paint it. My lws traded me a tank of c25 even for the co2 tank and a safety cap. Attached Images
