Reply:Post #3?Hmmm...   are you selling this new gadget, or what?
Reply:first off engloid, its nice to meet you,i can say without fear of contradiction you have posted the finest welds i personally have ever seen.and the lads i work with agree.now as regards pipemofo,it must be the future,if someone has designed this thing then we will have to accept it,more power to him for trying his arm.i think you lads call it dumbing down.whats so hard about using your brain though,go to tech, learn the old ways, then these things are a benefit not a shortcut.that i think is 6inch pipe perhaps 5 inch? anyhow a 6inch bend has a radius of 9 inches,im sorry but the photo i have is 70 degrees so 9ins  by 20  by the constant of one degree .01745  equals 3.141 ins.the outside radius is 3 inches greater ie 12 inches so 12  by  20  by .01745  etc. i hope these pics help.pipefitter Attached ImagesLast edited by pipe fitter; 10-14-2007 at 06:23 PM.
Reply:We spoke via pm, and if he honestly has no affiliation with this product, I asked him to not take any offense to my post.  It just seemed odd that his first three posts were about it.  If he says he is not trying to sell this item, I will take his word for it.  Hopefully he will not be so bashful and post up more in the future!!  I typically just measure the length of outer circumference of the pipe, and divide it according.
Reply:Engloid, your words are appreciated.  I'm new to this forum, so i guess I'm still trying to figure whether or not I have anything intelligent to add here.  You old-schoolers can be a bit intimidating!
Reply:Got pics of this gadget?
Reply:tresi, i don't have pics but the web address is www.americanpipefitter.com.  It's a program that figures offsets mostly

Reply:I always figured that offsets were something that people liked to complicate, for come reason.  Even a rolling offset can be figured with the Pythagorian theorem.
Reply:I'm not very good with that Pyth.... theorem!  But this thing looked like it had some pretty complex rolling offsets.
