hello everyone. i hope i am posting this in the right section on here. i am new to this site and i recently bought 2 welders from a local guy for 50 each.   i was wondering if anyone had ever heard of or used one of these welders before? sorry about the terrible picture quality the cam is a sanyo i convinced my friend not to smash after he got a new one. needless to say, i regret not letting him because it became my "problem". anyways the models are : the smaller one is a mac tools silver beauty multi mig model 90070-71 the larger is also a silver beauty mig welder model 90085 but doesnt carry the mac tools logo and says made by telwin in italy for triple a specialty corporation on a sticker in the back. i dont know anything about these but the larger one needs a new "gun" handle and switches. i was wondering if anyone on here knew where to get parts for these because i cant find any info on them and i am curious if i can use parts from other welders? thanks for taking the time to read this Attached Imagesi haz rimz...
Reply:You can e-mail mac tools an theirs. the other one you can try daytona mig or HTP america. All 3 have web sites
Reply:My best advice is to ask to try them out. Get a buddy who can weld decently to go with you and try them if you can not weld yet. $50 isn't much, but if they don't work, you are hosed. If the guy won't let you test fly them, then pass on them on the spot and keep looking.Good luck!! Paul. And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.
Reply:they both work actually. the multi mig i tested before i bought it and its so compact and works quite well for what i am doing in driveways and the alike so i took them both for 100. which isnt a bad deal really. the other mig works but the gun is in pieces and you have to hold the white block where the gas and wire feeds and its missing some other parts and was partially dissasembled but i couldnt find any parts info on it looking arround the web other than replacement tips on a few websites. mac tools was pretty vauge on it and couldnt find much for telwin welders or the triple a specialty corp except their fairly known in europe but no replacement parts only people using them and saying that their a good quality and last a long time without much fuss. i was wondering if most the parts for these mig welders are universal and if i could mount a new gun with hoses leads and everything to it or if it was specific to the one it came with. i dont think its more dangerous than using it just with an exposed trigger and leads but im no expert on it so figured someone here must of done it before and has some good input on what to do in a situation like this.  thanks again guys! i haz rimz...
Reply:They look like older Cebora welders imported form Italy. They worked ok when new but the drive mechanisms and guns are kind of crappy. The gears inside the drive are plastic and can strip. Be sure the liner runs as close as possible to the drive roller or the feeding will be poor. I believe Daytona MIG or HTP America has parts for these. Really, if you need to put any money into these throw them out and get a Miller or Lincoln. Hopefully you get at least one good one between the two.
