Reply:Carbide bit in a die grinder..Works every time!Don't forget the wax.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:Silly question but why do you need wax on the carbide grinder

Reply:I use canning wax..You can get it at any hardware store..It's called "Gulfwax"Square box with 4 pieces that look alittle like soap bars..You can use any candle also..Some guys like the pretty scented ones.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:Just take the burr while its spinning and push it against the wax..Let it build up on the bit and have at it..But once the bit gets hot then the wax will melt into liquid on the burr..No worries just keep using it and you'll see how good it works..(You can use the wax on flap wheels also)I still have the same burr I have been using for 15! years..Still as sharp as ever!...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:Sandpaper flap disc in an angle grinder works great for grinding aluminum and is weldable after.  Just don't use common aluminum oxide abrasive grinding wheels, especially if you intend to weld on the ground area.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
Reply:daman,it depends on the weld location and access to the welds to be removed, but this tool the mini arbortech- http://www.arbortech.com.au/view/woo...20070202100615  Industrial Blade (50mm/2")  (MIN.FG.012) down the page a bit to the carbide insert blade- gives good control in tight spaces and allows a level of back chipping control that is hard to beat. The blade can be (re)sharpened with a diamond hand lap, and they last a good while.  Aluminum is tougher on the drive belts than wood so I'd say getting several belts is a good idea if you'll be using the tool regularly to gouge aluminum.I've used this tool on hundreds of feet of boat hull chines and other gouging chores because its narrow teeth allow the most control of the weld or back weld groove profile.I only use Pam, (or generic) frying pan spray, to lubricate aluminum cuts because its in a spray can, goes on while your tool is running in the cut and will vaporize well below hydrocarbon 'burn out' temperatures so the clean up and potential contamination are pretty manageable.  If the welds are 'out in the open' and you an get to them with a 4" grinder (?) then using the light brown or carmel colored and waffle faces "aluminum grinding wheels" is a good tool for the job but control is not as high as it would be with the mini-arbortech.  Air and electric die grinders with (non-cross cut) fluted burrs will cut aluminum cleanly if lubricated to keep the melted metal from adhering to the burr.  Wax, pan spray or several other products will all do this job, but the tool's burr is not guided unless you make a base or other rest; so 'machining' the weld out is less controlled.Cheers,Kevin Morin
Reply:Hmmm interesting tool maybe a little extravagant for what i need because i usually don't work with alum but looks like good control with it i have the carbide tip zap was talking about i'll give that a try.so your saying you use pam coking spray over wax???  interesting....HOBART IronMan 230 MIGSmith Lifetime WH200 HD O/A Torch
Reply:I use a product called "Alumacut" by Walter, which is probably just coloured paraffin wax but sure extends the life of saw blades and bits when cutting and drilling aluminum. For files I chalk them for steel, I am going to try the wax on  them for aluminum.I use those carbide burrs as well in either an air or electric die grinder.  I saw a video on YT a few weeks ago where a guy used a wood working router with a 45 deg chamfer bit to bevel aluminum plate.  Haven't tried that yet.Last resort is a grinder, messy but sometimes its the only way."The reason we are here is that we are not all there"SA 200Idealarc TM 300 300MM 200MM 25130a SpoolgunPrecision Tig 375Invertec V350 ProSC-32 CS 12 Wire FeederOxweld/Purox O/AArcAirHypertherm Powermax 85LN25

Reply:Circular saw, carbide bit, wood rasp, Think hard wood and use the same tooling.
Reply:you can use a 5 " grinder with one of these wheels on it Creative metal Creative metal Facebook
Reply:try A9 cutting fluid if it is still made. I think it is made by rapidtap. Have used it with cutting burs and on the lathe. used to turn out adapters for High voltage diodes so we could use one diode in many different machines.
