Lifan welder generator

Hey guys been looking at getting a more mobile welder generator combo and came across this on the home depot site. The price is right at 1199 but is there any quality. http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/...ctId=202196138Specs are a dc welder 40-190. says 50% duty cycle so im guessing thats at max output, Just wanted to see if anyone had any reviews or any info at all.
Reply:Can't atest to the quality of this welder but Lifan is making a name for themselves here in the US in the scooter/small motorcycle arena. Reply:Rick V, go to the link and click on that specifications tab and see how you read it. Pretty shoddy the way it's put together.   Someone not quite familiar with the english language or standard ratings was trying to put together a spec sheet looks like. I guess a guy can pick the wattage you want see and hope for the best. Reply:Hey Sandy... there is more technical information `(e.g 3500 watts) under the tab 'Description' than under the tab 'Specification'. Reply:From what I've read in the past, Lifan seems to be a decent company for engines.  I think that if I had a $1200 budget.  I'd be looking at a Maxstar 150s and a 5500 watt generator.  That's what I have and new price would put you in the $1200-1300 range.  Then you would have a good, name brand welder that could be plugged in anywhere and portable power to run it out in the middle of nowhere. As a bonus, the two could be split up later on if you decide to upgrade or one or the other dies.  Maybe I'm a little biased, but the system works good.  The genny I have is a WEN.  It's chinese, but the price was right for one with a blown engine and the parts to fix it was cheap.  I've got roughly $300 invested in my generator and paid about $750 for the Maxstar new.My name's not Jim....
