Reply:CommanderReally cool.  I like the look of the HAZ around the frame.   I've built three bicycles.  I am not familiar with BMX.  What are some of the things you are trying to accomplish when you build your own BMX(frame geometry, stiffness, weight, etc.).  Do you tap or turn our own bottom bracket?

Reply:Thanks microzoneTapwelder, My goals in building this frame were to keep it as light and simple as possible, add a  head tube that uses an internal headset, and spanish bottom bracket (a smaller bottom bracket than the standard bmx bottom bracket that has the aluminum cups. the spanish has no cups, just bearings pressed into the frame).as far as geometry goes, I jigged a previous frame that I owned because i like the geometry.Doolittle, The finished weight was 5 lbs 8 oz.Front brakes are generally not standard fare on BMX bikes, and haven't been for about 18 years now. Some freestylers still use them but that is kind of niche.

Reply:That's really awesome man.I used to ride back in the day but havent gotten on a 20" in a long time!I like how you integrated the seat post right to the frame.Rear drop-outs look super beefy too.Has a really stout stance too, looks great!One question, how did you bend the pipe symmetricallyfor the rear end of the frame, right where the oldschoolbrake bracket is?Also noticed you have the oldschool odyssey pedals,arent those things like gold? Reply:That's so cool. How many different kinds of tubing did you weld up? And how did you figure out what kinds to use?  Which parts didn't you fabricate and why? I'd love to be able to do something like that.
Reply:nice frame, id love to make one myself, but dont have a clue on how to get everything fitted nicely with the right geometry, or make a headtube like you did for internal.

Reply:wow looks real good, i had to repair a headtube crack/add a gusset on a fit aitken, not the easyest task.
