I'm looking at getting a inverter AC/DC tig, after looking at them I'm came up with the HTP being the best bang for the buck. Rated output is better than Dynasty and TA @ 230 volts,, it comes standard with a flowmeter,,, about everything else is comparable to these units. The 120v operation is nice on big blue but not an issue for me. Looking at the weight of the machines big blue weighs 45 lbs, TA @ 41 lbs and HTP is a porker @ 68 lbs, am I right on thinking that the HTP being heavier it is stronger built, with less plastic than the others? Anyone have comments on the HTP stuff?TIA, Rich
Reply:I have the HTP 201, couldnt be happier with it. Most of the stuff I do is ornamental, 14 or 16 ga tubing, with cast iron.Built a lot of shop equipment, carts, chopsaw stand, material rollers and jigs with 1/4 in sguare tube, angle and schedule 40 pipe. 1/8 tungsten, 1/8 filler and let it howl!Never have exceeded duty cycle or had any problems. Just ordered the HTP Mig 200, due in next week. I also have the top of the line auto darkening hood they sell, great stuff. |
