Can anyone tell me some rough dimensions of a 55 and 70 gal tank?
Reply:We need some rough ideas of what you want. A US gallon occupies 231 cu. in. an IMP gallon 277.Not to come off as a smart a$$ but if you go with a 2" x 2" tank you'd need one 58" long for a gallon, 10" x 10" would be 2 3/8" high. See what I'm getting at ......Mike
Reply:For a rectangular tank when measurements are in inches:C = L x W x H divided by 231When measurements are in feet:C = L x W x H x 7.48For cylindrical tanks:When measurements are in inches:C= D x D x .7854 x L divided by 231When measurements are in feet:C = D x D x .7854 x L x 7.48Dont pay any attention to meIm just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400
Reply:I didn't know there was that much variety on take shape/size. I thought they came in a fairly standard cylindrical shape. As far as I can see from pics online, the one's I've seen are around 8" diameter and 2-3 feet high but if it really varies that much then I'll just wait till I get mine and just measure... just in case I end up with one who's base is a 2" square Ps. I meat cu ft not gallon in original post. Sorry bout that.Last edited by spizzak; 10-22-2010 at 04:54 PM.

Reply:,At my company we rate them in liters, the big one is above is 49 liters, the next one down is 44 liters. The 49 is just a bit over 9" and the 44 is just a bit under 9". A 55 gallon gas cylinder would be awfully big, judging from a 55 gallon drum. I have never heard of referring to this type of cylinder in gal.
