I don't want to get too political. But it's time to take a serious look at our involvement andAsk ourselves: Why are we still there?Almost every day there are news reports about More deaths. Almost every night on TV there are photos of destruction. Why are we still there?The land is too large to secure completely.The bad people causing this damage can roam anywhere, and we can't possibly police the whole place. Why are we still there?Their government is unstable, and in the process of changing. People have fled by the thousands. It will cost billions to rebuild, which we can't afford. Why are we still there?There are more than 1000 religious sects. We can't even secure the borders. And to repeat, every day we hear of more Americans killed in this dangerous land.Folks, it's certainly clear.We must pull out of California!!!Appreciation Gains You Recognition-

Reply:I have long believed that I know how to solve 2 crisis at once.  Take all this money we expect to spend on the middle east mess and combine that with all the money we expect to spend bailing out California from one mess after another for the next decade or so.  Don't even worry about how much it will cost.Pour all the money and manhours into research & develoment of a time machine, even if it's a one shot deal.  Send the appropriate envoy back to 1945, 46 to cancel the deal whereby the Israelis were given their original territory.  Give them California instead.  End of trouble in the mideast;  oh, the crazy Arabs would still be killing each other, but so what?  In fact, it might be completely de-populated by now.  And California would be a totally self-sufficient garden with a huge economy and be a strong military ally, not the giant drug on the US economy, culture and politics that it is today.  Movies, vegetables and fruit  in endless supply.  What's not to like?

Reply:They want to ban smoking on the beaches in LA because of litter. No mention of banning candy bars or homeless people. Somebody in Sac wants to ban teenagers from using tanning booths. Then they should ban them from going to the beach to prevent skin cancer.It is amazing how smart the liberals are. They know what is better for us. Of course our freedoms are slipping away a piece at a time.
