Reply:i don't see why that motor wouldn;t work in there... it almost seems a little big to fit in that frame, but i always have the mindset that "you can do anything you want to anything you want... it's just a question of how much time and money you want to spend on it." i also tend to live by the phrase: "If it don't fit, hit it with a hammer... if it still don;t fit, hit it with a bigger hammer. if it breaks, use duct tape. besides, if you can't duck it, #%^ it." hehehehekeep us posted on the progress... i'm really interested to see how it turns out.later,Andy
Reply:That one cool looking buggy you have their. I am planning on finishing the one I started a few years ago myself. Please post you suspension pic as you build them. Your frame looks different from my. Can't wait to follow the progress on this one. I will be sure to post my project when I get back to it. Here is a pic of my frame were I left off. I modeled my from my full size dune buggy. Miller DVI2Lincoln Precision Tig 225Thermodynamics Cutmaster 38Everything else needed.
Reply:Awesome project Diego!!And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.

Reply:1000 cc, is that a bit small? Not sure on power specs on that motor, but even a stock VW is 1600 ccs hahaha. However, a 1000cc streetbike motor rocks, so who knows. I'm more of a V8 guy anyhow, not real familiar with these other guys . Looks real good though!Have a Jeep Cherokee? Click Here!

Reply:you built the bender from their free plans correct? How was that? Was it a fairly easy process? I'd love to have a bender but the cutting of pieces I can't do. I only have an angle grinder so it's not as precise as your laser cutter.Maybe I can find someone in the states willing to cut the pieces for me.
Reply:Originally Posted by dfbelloHi Jamlit, thanks for your comments. Why you didnt finished you buggy project? Is that frame design by you?. I expect to finish my buggy, and hope to see yours too.
Reply:i didnt realize this was a sand buggy. here all along i thought it was a rock buggy.Originally Posted by GrantHyou built the bender from their free plans correct? How was that? Reply:you made the dies too? i am getting close to making a bender, but the dies were the one part i figured i would have to buy. got any insight into how to do it? i have tools available to me such as a brake and a laser.

Reply:Hmm someone wanted to give me a gsxr 750 and I had always wanted to build a long travel little single seater buggy. I am now inspired... Reply:I wanted to do the bender thing long time ago. Structure is cheap and easy to make, but you´ll spend a lot of time making the dies and a lot on steel. It´s way better to buy the dies you´ll save money and time. (of course you can always buy the HF pipe bender, it works pretty well for pipe)My Babies: HF Drill pressHF Pipe Bender3 4.5" Black and Decker angle grindersLincoln Electric PROMIG 175that´s it!

Reply:Really Nice! What type of steel are you using? I also see the tubing walls are pretty thick, but with the engine your using i guess it's not overkill. How you gonna get the tranny h shifter to work with it being behind you?? If i were you i would have gone with a cbr 1000 engine(loads of top end power and perfect for dunes) but you do with what you got. I am also building a mini buggy myself, but a much smaller ver. (like a honda FL 400). Using a twin cylinder 440 yamaha snowmobile engine(i need the torque of a 2 stroke). I'm actually trying to duplicate the honda Fl400 design but modify it a little for the better. I have all the parts just need to get the frame built, but still in the blueprinting process, i have some obstacles in the design. When i saw the camo hood i thought you were a redneck. Can't wait to see it finished!
