Ok, here is something I designed and cut today. It is a gift for a military member who is moving on to another base. Being stationed here in Oklahoma City, this image has some local significance. Well, thats what the person who ordered it told me. Anyway, its has about a 10" diameter, and is made to hang on the wall.Miller Syncrowave 200Hobart Handler 140Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster 38E-Z Tube BenderPlasma Cam DHC2

Reply:What finish methods did you use?
Reply:That is great! How do you get the design in the machine? Is it scanned in or do you have to make the design in CAD or some other program?MM175 MIGCutmaster 38 PlasmaCraftsman 30gal compressor4x6 HF bandsaw1hp HF floor drill pressRyobi Cutoff SawAssorted grindersNot enough time
Reply:Most of my stuff I finish with a surface prep wheel on an angle die grinder. It polishes the mill scale to a medium shine for a nice rustic look. If they want it painted I will paint it, but most of the stuff I do is better just raw. To load the picture into the plasma cam, it has to be a 256 color .bmp image. I can draw it in paint, scan it in from a scanner, or use cad files to do. The customer sourced the image I used for this one. I just converted it, imported it into the Plasma Cam program, and cleaned it up. The customer is very happy with the results.Miller Syncrowave 200Hobart Handler 140Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster 38E-Z Tube BenderPlasma Cam DHC2
