A new Millermatic 252

Hi to All,I just bought the above welder. I have yet to weld with it.Has anybody got anything bad to say about them?Anything Good?Thanks,Jack

Reply:Jack772------Buy a 30A spool gun for it and load some aluminum and there's almost nothing you can't fix with the 252.  It will weld thinner metal than they spec it for too, you just have to move fast.  I really like the way you can leave both the regular mig gun and the spool gun hooked up at the same time and  it will auto-sense which one you are using and default to the settings for that gun. I added the multi-bottle low shelf on mine and the tall cable/gun holder to make it handier.I have found that some of the suggested settings on the attached Settings Flip out Folder seem to be a little hotter than necessary. Reply:Have not used my 252 a whole lot yet, but so far, me likey!! It welds as good or better then the delta weld 452 I use at work.
Reply:Jack,I'm currently enrolled in a welding program close to where I live, hoping to get an AWS certification when everything is said and done.  I do not own my own welder as of yet, but hope to purchase either the Millermatic 252 or 350P as my first machine when I finally get around to it.  I hope it works well for you, and do keep us updated!Congrats!Scott
Reply:They hold up pretty well. We have a **** ton of 251s and 252s and they weld good(not great) and hold up well to abuse. I don't think they weld that awesome on the high end of SC but it depends on which machine I grab too.
Reply:I did some welds today.  The machine worked great!I cannot find anyway to purge the gas hose and gauges when I am done.I turned down the wire feed to do it but it wastes wire.Jack
