Roll bar...
Reply:Nice job of bending and fitting! But, I gotta ask why do all the muscle / drag car roll bars have rear braces with bends in them like that? Is it more for looks than safety? They really don't contribute much strength when they have bends in them - specially when the bends add up to almost 90 degrees... For the best strength they should go straight from the main hoop to the mounting points in the wheel wells or whereever they mount.Don't get me wrong - I'm not criticizing your work. It's really nice! I just have always wondered about the bars that are done that way. The bars I usually do are for sportscar racing, etc where the sanctioning bodies specifically outlaw any bends in those 2 rear diagonals.
Reply:I needed rear seat head room for my kids.I have another car that will be race only and I will do alot of things different. One thing for sure is that it will be 100% welded, this one is bolted in.

Reply:Ok, that makes sense if you're trying to keep the rear seat usable! Many of the cars I've seen it done on weren't doing it for that reason since they didn't have back seats! Looks good all finished!
Reply:If you hit something like.. Wall of concrete (lets hope the car would go trough it!) or solid rock! (car would not go trough) That setup will not help much other than a rat trap would holding the rat. because the roof beam would go down over the front seats. If the frame would bend down ( )--___--( ) the roof tube would go down in front of seats. You should make support tubes from front to roof tubes to held the roof tube in place of an impact! But you have done a great work!!RegardsMy welds looks like Shi*! But hey it holds..http://www.engineandparts.com Sell and buy your tuner car for free! 1#quality site!
