We have an ATV trailer that sat too low. As a result of being too low we broke a sewer line on our Thanksgiving camping trip. So my son Nick and I decided to relocate the axles UNDER the leaf springs instead of OVER the leaf springs. This gave us just enough lift to clear the small bumps where we camp.Simple process, drop the u-bolts, pull the spring plates, drop the leaf spring from the hanger. Level the axle based on the old spring perches under the axle, level the new spring perches on top of the axle, weld, prime, paint, reinstall. We did three axles total. The picture we took of us is not for 'peace', it is for the second axle. Reply:Great job man! looks great!haha I guess most of your neighbors are not pretty happy with all the sounds you´re making in there...Same happens to me, but now we´ve built a small 2x2 meter shop, in which I can at least close the door and grind... Reply:I don't complain when my neighbors are blaring Mariachi music until 4am on the weekends and they don't complain when I am welding during the day. We all get along fairly well. Especially when they need something fixed and can ask me for help. All the neighborhood kids come to my house with their flat tires on their bicycles because I have an air compressor, so it's all good.
