Victory mc footboard-round 9-final finishing & test fitI needed to verify that, this reduction in hole location clearance-from using the fabricated .375 x .315 SS tubing sleeves would still fit the tapped holes in the bike frame. The mounts fit, without hassle. At least, everybody got the hole locations between the mounts and the framepretty damn close. Pics below.Below are last pics of the naked right side mount:http://www.weldingweb.com/attachment...1&d=1198361289http://www.weldingweb.com/attachment...1&d=1198361333http://www.weldingweb.com/attachment...1&d=1198361382Above is rear view of the right side mount, showing the 1.125+ clearance between the belt guard and the rear mount, rear gusset.Below are views of the left side mount:http://www.weldingweb.com/attachment...1&d=1198361445The front gusset plate of this left mount is set for .125-.190 clearance to the battery.http://www.weldingweb.com/attachment...1&d=1198361501Final FinishingI have repeatedly cooked out lettle porosity voids, filled, faired, then sanded down. There still are some, small pores. Im wholly tired of doing this. This a.m. I took both mounts to the powdercoater to show him the pores and discuss: -Theyll primer powdercoat the parts first, then have me inspect IF, IF, we dont get further out-gassing from these pores, then light sanding may help hide them. -I continued today, to go over the pores to cook out and at least try to minimize the possibility of out-gassing of connected bores below the surface. -Following the primer and sanding (if needed), then its one or two coats of gloss black.I should have the final finishing done tomorrow and the parts to the powdercoater.
