Gday lads i'm having trouble with my arc welding. Whenever i try to weld a fillet join, i end up with 2 seperate beads, 1 one each surface. Am i using to few/much amps, or is it a technique problem ? cheers.
Reply:What kind of rod are you using? I find that 6013's (or your equivalent down under) often do this in a fillet joint if the juice is not turned up a bit. Try it with about 15 more amps and make sure the puddle gets started at the end of the fillet.Get it hot and hit it hard...

Reply:make sure if you are using anything other than 6010 or 6011 to clean the metal on both sides of the joint. |
