Has anyone ever built a large metal shear something that would shear a 48in piece of 12-16 gauge?
Reply:Never made one. Perhaps this will help you determine required tonnage. http://www.mittlerbros.com/ go to helpful information/shearing.

Reply:Have you considered just using a nibbler or hand held shear? Doesn't take up space, cheap(sort of), portable, can cut shapes, does a good edge if you use a guide. I have a Hitachi 16g nibbler that I think is just great but Makita makes 10g models. Of course, if you're doing production runs then they're probably not the way to go.A man who can't weld is as poorly educated as a woman who can't sew
Reply:I have a 52" 16 gauge foot shear but want to make it hydraulic anybody got any ideas |
