Hey guys I recently graduated my army AIT in metal working, which is basically just welding. I am now interested in advancing my skills and becoming certified. Does anyone know anything about the better welding programs in Michigan? I am looking into GRCC's pogram or also Ferris States both of these schools are relatively close to me. Any input on these schools or any other suggestions would be great. I would like to get the most education possible. Also what certifications are best for real world applications ( Getting jobs).

Reply:j.e.johnson in midland michigan puts a welding school on for welding pipe, my local in saginaw has a bunch of their ex welders and they can flat-out weld, saginaw local 85 steamfitters is also another place and with your military background you could use your g.i.bill...they are taking applications right now also, as far as ferris goes, its your money but i wouldnt waste it, they will teach code but not how to do it, i personally have fixed their 'bests' welds and they dont impress me at all. more of the best schools in the country are hobart, lincoln and the tulsa school of welding, all the instructors here have actually welded before, and not just in a classroom
Reply:Thank you thats exactly what I was looking for. Do you have anymore information on these quality schools or classes? |
