I had a bunch of work to do on my two sites so didn't have time to practice with my Lincoln Pro-MIG 180 until yesterday. I sat down and forgot that I was "pushing" the MIG to get better beads and ripped off a left to right one that actually looked like a weld! (First picture below.) I hadn't changed anything, same welder, same 0.025 wire, 75% Argon/25% CO2 gas. Somehow I got better so I am not complaining.I even got a little brave and tried welding up a seam between two pieces of 1-1/2" angle. It was at a 45-degree slant so I consider that a vertical of sorts. The second picture below is of that bead, working top to bottom. Other than not being consistent with the circles, what else am I doing wrong?I know I am not in danger of being a real welder anytime soon but for my home shop, I am feeling way better about sticking pieces of steel together.Tom Hintz, publisherwww.newmetalworker.comLincoln Pro Mig 180Lincoln AC 255Determination
