Automated or semi automated welding

Does anyone have any exposure to automated or semi-Automated welding, like PTAW, YAG, GTAW, EBW?I've been assigned to a new PTAW welder at work>>>Pretty neat machine.

Reply:Plasma Transfer Arc Welding,  It is similar to TIG/GTAW. It is used for hardfacing, keyhole welding, and a lot of other production type welds.  It is very clean and controlable.  Ideal for automation. http://www.pro-fusiononline.com/welding/plasma.htm
