Rotated my tires and noticed the passenger wheel well covered in antifreeze.Opened the hood and thought it was a loose hose clamp. Tightened it up and still dripped. This is the line going to the heater core. The mounting brackets both had cracks in them.You can see how nasty it was.The crack after cutting off the bracket.I welded on the other side of the existing weld to seal it. Attached Images

Reply:I've always replaced lines like that with copper. Just get some soft copper and bubble flare the ends to make hose barbs and bend it to the right shape. I then mount it with rubber-coated clamps.But what you did works fine and looks good. Great savings too!
Reply:If I could not fix it, I would have just used two nipples and a piece of heater hose.But it felt good completing the task at hand. |
