Reply:What schedule of pipe is that? Looks like some pretty thick pipe next to it. By the appearance it looks like a bunch of stringer beads. What part of the power plant system is that? Looks fun, all that and money right?

Reply:Maybe you can stop by my plant and fix a few leaks. Right now we have about 4 leaks (one split) in the generation bank and one in the super heater. Gas is very expensive right now.....we need coal back......
Reply:Company I used to work for, we did some industrial cleaning. We'd go in and vac out the flyash before the boiler was fully cooled down. Very hot+very dry=lots of melted PVC vac hose and insane static shocks.
Reply:Not to mention, with the CFB's, you end up smelling like rotten eggs.
Reply:The part of the boiler is the superheat spray header way up in the boiler penthouse as high as you can go just under the roof, the pipe thickness on the 14" superheat (the right of the picture) is 1.875" thick, the 4" pipe on the left side (the new pipe is 4" XXheavy (.674" wall) the pipe on the right was existing and the one on the left is new and is stringers because we stood it up to fabricate on the bench (faster and easier for 2 guys to weld on) the other 3 lines coming off are 2.875 OD with a wall thickness of about 5/8".all the welds are x-rayed. all the material is 2.25% chrome. (P22) with a 450 degree preheat. Yes i am a welding instructor at Local 601 in Milwaukee.
Reply:Pretty big pipes by our standards.
Reply:You get all the fun jobs.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:I just had my first experience in a bag house the other night. We had to open up the bottoms to get some filters that were sitting down there. What a freaking mess!!!
