I only have a harbor freight tig right now to play with. I am getting the Miller Syncrowave 200 sometime soon. I think I figured away to get a proper working pedal on the machine and should be starting it soon. Anyway while playing around on the tig I thought I would try and lay down a bead or two on 20 gauge sheet metal. I wish I had taken the pictures with a dime as they are very small . here is a pick of one of the beads, top and bottom. I over lapped the joint rather than butt welding it.So what do you thinkMiller DVI2Lincoln Precision Tig 225Thermodynamics Cutmaster 38Everything else needed.
Reply:Not bad at all! Nice, actually.Try butt welding some. Believe it or not it's easier than a lap joint, but you have to have a perfect fitup.Miller EconotigCutmaster 38Yes ma'am, that IS a screwdriver in my pocket!

Reply:Thanks GuysI was veery happy with the welds as this is a cheap chinese welder with no foot padel or pulse. When I get the new tig its going to have both. Twisted Minds. I am planning on using 16 gauge for the tanks to allow for the thinning during shaping. I used 20 gauge because that what I had . I have a question for you. I read that you built an ewheel using ACME thread for the adjuster. I was just wondering how it worked out for you. After a lot of research, I read that ACME thread was not the best choice. I am building my adjuster for mine now.Miller DVI2Lincoln Precision Tig 225Thermodynamics Cutmaster 38Everything else needed.
