the steel is from somebody's basket ball goal.  i like to recycle.i don't have any plate steel for the machine to sit on, so i will use plywood till i get some. the tig will sit on top, and mig on bottom.  more to come.the bottle will sit on the back, and be strap to the upright.wheel base is 36'' across the back.
Reply:Looks like that is going to work well for you, good job. Post the pics!If you don't want to stand behind our Troops, feel free to stand in front of them.
Reply:I would like to SEE the welds.  Looks good so far.  The front wheel mounts may need more support like a gusset or something.DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:i take some pics tomorrow, the good,  the bad, and the ugly.  i used this project to practice my uphill with the 6010, kinda welded it in place.  i agree about the front wheel supports.
Reply:these are pics of 3/32'' 6010 uphill, running between 38 and 44 amps .  how do you guys take such great pics?
Reply:Hey I like to hear about someone making something new and useful out of metal that would otherwise be trashed or sit and rust.  Great work, props!Have a Jeep Cherokee?  Click Here!

Reply:I like it, good job recycling.
Reply:And brace the camera on something. Ideally use the delay mode so you are not touching the camera at all when the shutter goes off, but at least rest the camera on something. It does not need to be a tripod, a wall or random structure is fine. Even just using a broom or something will help. Also, don't use the flash unless you really, really have to. If the camera is resting on something solid a half second exposure will work just fine.

Reply:its my first TIG and i been real happy with it also. glad i could help ya get into such a great lil TIG unit. i keep mine coverd when not in use and expect to have it around for a long time, heck i still have not played with all the options yet. but its sweet on aluminum. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
Reply:i went a head and kinda finished my cart.  i bolted plywood to the frame for the unit to sit on.  i am not going to paint it till i get a piece of metal for the top, and  bottom units to sit on.  i need to add some PVC wire holders and call it done.  i might have to brace the rear axle if i get another big bottle for the mig unit.   those rear tires are coming off, and solid ones are going on.
