just burning some eighth inch 7014 at 133 amps downhill, to see if they flow like they do on flat surfaces, and they do pretty much.three passes downhill. need to run it a little hotter i think.
Reply:Looks good. I am curious when you would need to or be required to run downhill on thick stuff? Anybody got an answer???I run downhill only on thins stuff like 1/16".
Reply:i think, sch. 40 and below, for downhill.
Reply:Looks pretty good. Someday, I'll get the stinger and try some stick with my tig machine. And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.
Reply:Now lets see you do it UP. Did you grind the rust off that plate?About all I run downhill is exhaust and plate that thin.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:yes i grind the rust off. the rust is so thick, i have to grind off an area for the ground.
Reply:You have that piece all cleaned up, run a pass UP right over the top of that. You can do it. maybe drop a few amps 10 or 20? DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor. |
