virtual reality welder training (lincoln electric)

if you google the above you will see the new training aid, no materials,,smoke consumables , it shows a video , fiber optic cable runs from helmet, you can long-arc & it will show where you went wrong. in all processes.even pipe. what do you think?
Reply:I like it.  Even if you could do it without the hood, it could really break down your technique, angles, arc length and tell you where you're going wrong.  Then, when you put a hood on and start really welding you will be almost robotic.
Reply:I don't, i feel you need to experience the real thing and not some virtual screen. You have to deal with the heat to, and how long can you go without stopping every few inches. Theres times you have to tuff it out and deal with your knuckles burning and such and keep going. I just don't feel its worth it.Ya gotta spend money to make money!
