Critique my bead

Just started piddling with my welder recently after taking a 12 year break from messing with it. Millermatic 130XP, flux core wire. Practice material is 1" 14ga square tubing..... When laying next to each other, there is a small valley where the pieces butt up against each other....... So what say ?
Reply:Its not "tied in" all the way... Reply:Ok, by "not tied in" all the way, you mean at the start and stop and the bead I should started sooner and ended a bit further down than I did ?Whatcha mean by "Running a straight stringer" with flux core wire ?
Reply:Straight line. Just don't go crazy with the weaves using fluxcore or you could trap slag.Ya gotta spend money to make money!
Reply:Every one of those "valley's" where it's not filled in is what he means by not being "tied in". Usually it means that you failed to pause long enough at the top and bottom if you are doing a V or C shape motion back and forth the way it appears and moved forward too much. With stick or FC wire it's often difficult for many to determine just what is slag and what is puddle to tell how well they are filling in the weld. You THINK the puddle looks good, but the slag fooled you into moving to fast and leaving those spots..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size.
