Newbie question, A local has a used cutting/welding outfit for sale and was curious what you guys thought about it.  He has victor gauges with victor medium duty? torches. comes with a ton of hose, cart, alot of extra tips and two full bottles of gas oxy/acty. Oh yeah he also has a transferable lifetime/100yr for the bottles.  He was using this for building horse pens and such before him and his old lady split and no longer needs it and also needs to pay for his lawyer fees.  Anyway, he is asking 500.00 for all of it.  I just bought a Rigid chop saw from him for 75 bucks with 6-7 new blades.Anybody, think this is worth buying? I beleive it's probably a great deal but thought I would check here first.thanks Ben
Reply:id do it. i got mine with 5 victor torches. med duty threw heavy duty, two oxy tanks. a 80 and a 250 and a 300 acty. 4 welding torches bunch of welding rod 50 ft of hose. a bunch of tips cleaners mask etc etc all for 500. but both oxy bottles wer empty no big deal. this old timer was pretty good at what he did.
Reply:Sounds like a good deal. Around here I payed $300 just for the life time rental and first fill up of the tanks.Bruce
Reply:A new Victor SuperRange II, which is medium duty, is worth $200 without tanks.  Check on what you can get tanks for.  if the total is better than what the deal is, don't go for it.HankLast edited by hankj; 02-06-2005 at 12:47 PM.
