Reply:Depending on material thickness and what else you may want to do with the machine, will tell which machine to get size wise. As far as a brand I would recommend Miller. They have great machines and great auto hoods just make sure you get one with 4 sensors, it will help with out of position work. Hope this helps.Brett B & B Fabrication and Welding Inc.Spalding, MI.
Reply:Thanks Brett the tube is 1 m/m to 1.5m/m thick so i guess that will affect the current required.what are slope settings used for ? and do i need them ?
Reply:hi ac427. i purchased the lincloln precision tig 185 with the ready pak and cart. i love this machine, for the price i dont think it can be beat ($1650.00 with free shipping from welders-direct.com). with the ready pak you will be all set up for tig welding stainless, just have to buy the argon. it did not come with a stinger though which i thought was kinda cheesy, but for the money i think this is the machine for you. oh yeah, if you need to purge the tube you will have to get a new regulator, the one that comes with it has only one output.jakeLast edited by j8khansen; 06-27-2005 at 01:56 PM. |
