Rebuilding a welder

I have a question.   There is a shop here where I live that has some welders that arent' working anymore.  I am wondering where do you find the parts to rebuild a welder and also how difficult and expensive do you think it woould be?  i appreciate any help.Monster“The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.”  ~General Patton~
Reply:Not enough info to give a good answer. What brand and model? Import machines are usually throw aways unless you are good at scrounging parts from other sources. Popular name brand models often are easy to find both new and used parts for. Some models it's just not worth spending the money on parts. You can buy a similar working used machine for less than what the repair parts alone would run. All depends on what you are looking at..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size.
