Howdy! I have finally decided on a welder. I am going to get the Power mig 350 MP from lincoln. I would like to set it up with a regular wire feeder attachment, so I could have the push pull alluminum setup in the machine, with the python plus gun and a L-72 wire feeder or similar on the rack with the machine and a standard magnum 400 push gun and wire for mild steel. The problem I see is that the parent wire feeder/mig machine has a 5 pin and 6 pin connection available. All the lincoln wire feeders I have seen (in my limited research so far) use a 14 pin connection. Can an adapter be made between the two? Is the 6pin and 5 pin on the machine, ONLY used for amptrols, and additional external control features? Any and all information would be greatly appreaciated!! Brian Lee Sparkeee24
Reply:Your best bet would be to contact a Lincoln tech before you purchase anything and lay out your plans as to what you want to do. He will beable to tell you what will work with what, what will need adapters, and what wont work with what no mater what you try or do. I have a Miller spoolgun running off of a Lincoln Range 8 and Lincoln Wirematic 255 which a Miller tech said couldnt be done. Thanks to Lincoln tech, not only is it possible, its being done everyday!!!A few of my toys !LinuxMintManjaroMiller Roughneck 2E Lincoln WeldPak 100HTP MTS 160 Chicago Electric 80amp Inverter Victor O/A |
