Reply:Is that an old bear trap?A lot of the methodology depends on whether you want to weld it for restoration or for actual use. One issue is going to be color match if it's for restoration. Some of the ways to best macth the color won't be near the best for strength. For strength, besides all the preheat and post heat, you would want a high nickle filler. There are several here who know one heck of a lot more than me about these things.
